Join in some spooky fun!

Create an original Zoom Background with the theme “Scary Security Issues” in honor of Cybersecurity Awareness Month.  Highlight a security issue or named vulnerability while also celebrating the best holiday of the year – Halloween!  Show it off at the October 22, 2024, Zero Trust Ambassadors Office Hours and be entered to win a prize!

Winners will receive a Zero Trust sticker prize pack!  At least 1 winner in each category will be Awarded; more may be announced if the number of submissions exceeds 15.  The Judging will occur during the October 22, 2024, ZT Ambassadors Office Hours after the main presentation.  The Judges will be members of the Zero Trust Team.  

Categories

• Best Security Issue background (e.g., phishing prevention, malware avoidance, password reuse, etc)
• Best Vulnerability background (e.g., Heartbleed, Rowhammer, Log4Shell, etc.)

Rules

• No purchase necessary to enter the Contest.
• You do not need to be present at the October 22 Office Hours to win, but it will be worth attending
• Image must have some original content; it cannot just be an image off of the internet
• Submissions must be made using one of these methods:
  • Attend the Oct 22, 2024, ZT Ambassadors Office Hours and show off the background.  Arrive by 12:15 pm ET to ensure entry.
  • Make a post in #cms-zero-trust with your background image between Monday, Oct 21 at 9am ET and Tuesday, Oct 22 at 11:59 am ET
• Compatible formats include GIF, JPG/JPEG, or PNG. We recommend an image with a 16:9 aspect ratio, and a minimum resolution of 1280x720 pixels.
• Videos should be MP4 or MOV files with a minimum resolution of 480x360 pixels (360p) and a maximum resolution of 1920x1020 (1080p).
• The Contest is only open to people affiliated with CMS, and is void where prohibited by law. 
• The Zero Trust Judges, their managers, and immediate family members (spouse, parents, siblings, and children) and/or those living in the same household of Employees are not eligible to participate in the Contest.

Tips for making a background image for Zoom

There are many ways to make an image suitable for a Zoom background.  The aspect ratio should be 16:9, and a minimum resolution of 1280x720 pixels.  The image format can be GIF, JPG, or PNG.

A popular way to get started is to use your favorite presentation making software and set the page size to be 16:9.  Design your slide, and when you are ready, export the slide as an image.  Consider keeping the middle of the image blank so you don't block it while on camera.

Video Backgrounds should be MP4 or MOV files with a minimum resolution of 480x360 pixels (360p) and a maximum resolution of 1920x1020 (1080p).
